Joe has enjoyed a 20-year career at the forefront of design, technology and strategy; building teams, product and service offerings, and companies in the US, EU, and Asia, in settings from startups and boutique consultancies, to Fortune 10 firms.

He’s currently building a high-leverage design capability for a new line of business at Capital One.  Recent professional roles include chartering a product strategy function in the big data space at Endeca; leading innovation efforts around machine intelligence for a product development unit of Oracle; directing design teams in the global payments domain at Paypal; and originating a strategy practice at an Amsterdam-based interactive agency focused on emerging media.

Joe has spoken and written extensively for the international design and technology communities; published original research on topics including sensemaking, enterprise architecture, and social interaction design; and contributed to patented work in data management and information retrieval.
